After a fairly decent 13.1 mile training run with my friend Steve this past Saturday I thought I was in great shape push for a decent time at the 100% Irish For a Day 10 mile race this weekend. But low and behold my immune system had something to say about that. As Saturday progressed into Sunday I could surely tell a cold was coming on. Now after dodging running for 3 days because of this cold I feel my good showing may be in jeopardy. In hopes of capturing a bit back I plan to get out rain or shine the next couple nights and crank out some mileage while keeping in mind some sort of taper. Do you need to taper for a 10 miler?
Also on the agenda is a 20 mile training run from Lake Elmo MN. to Hudson WI. – In an effort to incorporate running in my schedule more I decided to cross an errand, dropping off the Hummer at the repair shop, with a run. I’m really looking forward to it. Me, water bottle and credit card(snack stops). Wanna Come?
